"Boxter"
Teardrop Trailer Pattern |
The "Boxter" and "Roundtail" are original "Tiny Tears" designs. The square back of the "Boxter" offers extra room in the kitchen area and is easier to build. This design has a more modern look and is for those that aren't concerned with pleasing the traditionalist. The practicality of the extra kitchen space, and the ease of building the hatch, overcomes the somewhat boxier look. If you are the more practical builder/camper then this is the design for you. |

"Roundtail"
Teardrop Trailer Pattern |
The "Roundtail" is based on the "Boxter". It is basically the same design but it has been rounded off to give it a more traditional look. There is a hint of a Benroy look to it if you use your imagination. This design was made for the teardrop builder that wants a "classic" design while maintaining the unique streamlined shape of a "Tiny Tears" design. |

"Schwep"
Teardrop Trailer Pattern |
The "Schwep" mimics the original Kit Mfg. design. It was built by a Rhode Island boat builder to live in around 1980. Don't ask what goes through the mind of a boat fanatic. However, here is a design that is a very close, or perhaps exact, copy of one of the most popular teardrops ever produced. If you want a recognized design this is the one. |

" '36 Uni-Wheel" Teardrop Trailer Pattern |
The "36 Uni-Wheel" was designed to live in while job hunting during the depression. Its pattern could be used to build a uni-wheel or it could be used on a more traditional two-wheel chassis. The cut for the kithchen hatch is straight which makes sealing the hatch easier. This is a great design if you are looking for an "orginal" very-early teardrop design. |

"Runlite"
|
The "Runlite" is one of the first teardrop trailer designs to be published in a national magazine, Modern Mechanics. It appeared in the 1938 "How-to-Build-It" edition. This unique teardrop trailer design has a rounded muslin roof giving it a distinct look. The construction could be a challenge if the directions of the article are followed exactly and not modified for modern materials. It is suggested you buy the scan of the article if you buy this pattern. Read the article by clicking here. |

"Honeymoon House Trailer" |
The "Honeymoon House Trailer" was "Built With Dimes" for a "Total Cost $60." Designed and built by Lousi Rogers of Pasadena for his wedding trip. To save to build the trailer he put any dimes he received as change from breaking a dollar bill into a small bank, and that is why this teardrop is built with dimes. The design is basic and simple to use. If you want a early teardrop trailer design from 1939 then this should be your choice. Read the article by clicking here. |

"Wild Goose"
|
This is a teardrop trailer design that was built from plans in the original article written by Vic Goertzen in the April, 1953 Popular Mechanics magazine. It was also built commercially as the Kampmaster. This is a beautiful teardrop that stands out from other teardrop trailers with its unique design. It is a 10' long design where what is normally the kitchen hatch raises up to provide wallk-in standing head room. Also, while on the road the bed is still accessible through a side door without raising the back section. If you need more room when you get to where you are going this is the teardrop trailer plan for you. Read the article by clicking here. |

"Camp Trailer"
|
Mr. Art Harvey of Brockway, PA developed these teardrop trailer plans so he could take his family camping on the weekend without having to worry about renting a bungalow. While this looks very much like the "Tiny Tears" Boxter, it is not, nor was the Boxter based on these teardrop trailer plans. However, this another design that is simple to build and offers efficient space use to get the most out of something small. If you want an easy build think about getting this teardrop trailer pattern. Read the article by clicking here. |

"Cub/Modernistic/Modernaire"
|
The "Cub/Modernistic/Modernaire" is considered the prettiest of all teardrops by some people. The Cub was sold either as as a complete trailer or in kit form. It was all aluminum and was bolted or riveted together. This design is 10' long which provides a bit more storage space in a longer sleeping area. |

"Benroy"
|
"With its smooth design, bright silver body with fire engine red trim, the Benroy was a saucy little two-door trailer. Built on the standard 4'x8' plan form, it was 10' long and 68" wide overall, and weighed 760 pounds. The sidewalls and floor were 3/8" fir plywood varnished on the inside, the deck lid and door ribs were made of laminated birch plywood, and the deck lid interior was made of 1/8" bending birch plywood. The exterior was .032 mill finish aluminum. The kitchen . . . ." From the Outback Teardrop Benroy History website.Follow the link to read the entire history. This pattern is for an 8' trailer.
